Event 2016 CIE/USA-DFW Annual Convention - August 27, 2016, Renaissance Dallas Richardson Hotel, 900 E Lookout Dr, Richardson, TX 75082

The 2016 Annual Convention is a celebration of the services that CIE/USA-DFW has delivered to the DFW community, and to affirm the partnership we have with industry, universities, government and community in which our members live and work. The convention will feature fall technical symposium, VIP reception, evening ceremony and technical forum. The CIE 2016 Technology Symposium is held in conjunction with the Annual Convention and will focus on the overall theme of "Smart City, Smart Life".

Event 2016 CIE/USA-DFW Fall Technology Symposium - August 27, 2016, Renaissance Dallas Richardson Hotel, 900 E Lookout Dr, Richardson, TX 75082

The CIE 2016 Technology Symposium is held in conjunction with the Annual Convention and will focus on the overall theme of Smart City, Smart Life. Various experts from the fields of smart home, smart sensing, leading manufacturing and automation technology, and leadership will discuss the current emerging trends to transition into a smart city and how these technologies affect people today.

Event 2016 CIE/USA-DFW Young Achiever Award (YAA) - August 27, 2016, 6:30PM-9:00PM, Renaissance Dallas Richardson Hotel, 900 E Lookout Dr, Richardson, TX 75082

Young Achiever Award (YAA) promotes and recognizes exceptional academic excellence in STEM, and active involvement of extra-curricular activities and community services of the youths. The award is to recognize students of 10th and 11th grade with top academic achievements at school, outstanding engineering and science accomplishments, demonstrated leadership and active involvement of community services. The award will be presented at the CIE/USA-DFW 2016 Annual Convention evening banquet at Renaissance Dallas Richardson Hotel on August 27, 2016.

Event 2016 DFW Youth English Speech Contest - July 30, 2016, Collin College Spring Creek Campus

The 2016 DFW Youth English Speech Contest is a CIE-sponsored event. It is a unique opportunity for youths to initiate, research, write, and deliver an address to public audience. Volunteers of Texas Dragon Toastmasters Club will organize the contest. Experienced trained judges will judge all levels of competition. Students in grades 1 to 12 are invited to participate.

Event 2016 CIE/USA-DFW MathComp/MathFun - June 4, 2016, Collin College Spring Creek Campus

The Annual MathComp/MathFun and Parenting Seminar is the flagship CIE/USA-DFW youth program attracting participation of about a thousand students, parents, educators and volunteers each year. This goal of this grand math fair is composed of 3 events: (a) a math competition, (b) a math fun fair and (c) a parenting seminar. The main goal is the simulate interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) subjects within the youth at their early ages.

Event 2016 LAMP Leadership Assessment & Mentoring Program -April 9, 2016, Saturday, 2:00 –5:30 pm

The Leadership Assessment and Mentoring Program (LAMP) event is one of the long-standing CIE/USA-DFW events featuring "Leadership" and "Career Mentoring" for young professionals. This event is especially designed for graduating university students and young professionals who desire to enhance their knowledge and hand-on experience on hiring process, career development, corporate culture, and leadership.

Event 2016 CIE Tech Forum "Opportunities Outside of Your Current Career Path" - Thursday March 24 from 6:30-8:30pm

Chinese leaders approved an economic blueprint for next decade that emphasizes tackling long-term problems and reflects a realization that debt and investment can no longer power the world’s second-largest economy. What China really needs, is deep structural reforms that will be heavily dependent on technology innovations. This presents many great opportunities to oversea Chinese professionals with deep STEM expertise.

Event 2016 Community Youth Leadership Camp (CYLC) - Aug 1- 6, 2016, TAMU - Commerce

The purpose of the Community Youth Leadership Camp (CYLC) is to give direction and guidance while building confidence through enhancing communication and team building skills in aspiring Chinese American youth. To prepare Chinese American young leaders for the main stream community and reinforce their pride in being Chinese American. Happy Chinese New Year! We have had another exciting year in serving our community. It is time to celebrate our achievements with our past, present, and prospective CIE members along with our families and friends. Come to join us in a family style party, enjoy a scrumptious 9 course Chinese dinner, watch wonderful performances, and reveal your luckiness in raffle drawings!

Event 2016 CIE/USA-DFW Nothing But Net Challenge (regional level) VEX Robotics Competition - Saturday, February 13th,2016 at Schimelpfenig Middle School, with 24 teams participating.

CIE/USA-DFW will be hosting the second VEX Robotics Tournament - Nothing But Net Challenge. The VEX Robotics Competition offers teams of students that are tasked with designing and building a robot to play against other teams from around the world in a game-based engineering challenge. Classroom STEM concepts are put to the test on the playing field as students learn lifelong skills in teamwork, leadership, communications, and more. Tournaments are held year-round at the regional, state, and national levels; local champions go on to compete against the best in the world at the VEX Robotics World Championship each April!

Event CIE/USA-DFW Young Professionals Seminar Series:Coordinating Disciplined Teamwork - Saturday, September 12th, from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Texins Activity Center

The team is pleased to invite Dr. Faa-Ching Wang, retired Business Unit Manager of Heater Chips at Texas Instruments to speak on how a leader can enable and drive disciplined teamwork.

The CIE/USA-DFW Young Professional team is meant to help anyone who just entered the workforce and are looking for short to mid-term career development (typically around 25-35 years old) through a series of seminar programs.
