Bio of Dr. Faa-Ching Wang
Dr. Faa-Ching Wang

Dr. Wang received the Ph.D. degree in Material Science and Engineering from Stanford University. He also received both of the M.S. and B.S degrees in Physics.

Dr. Wang specializes in crystal growth, semiconductor material / device characterization, and IC processing. He is an expert in bridging between semiconductor materials and devices as well as between R / D and production. He also has extensive experiences in business management, factory start-up / operation, and all aspect of quality requirements. He has 25 years of experiences in semiconductor industry.

Dr. Wang works in Texas Instruments Inc. for the last 18 years. He is currently the business manager of the Inkjet printer-head IC business unit. In this capacity, Dr. Wang is responsible for business development, product development, built and manages a dedicated manufacturing factory, and supply chain management of 4 factories.

Prior to current assignment, Dr. Wang worked in operation which he managed 2 wafer fabs and was the QRA manager started-up 4 advanced wafer fabs.

Prior to Texas Instruments, Dr. Wang was the Director of Engineering/QA of Ethyl Corporation responsible for the development and manufacturing of the GaAs crystal growth product line.

Before Ethyl Corporation, Dr. Wang was a Member of the Technical Staff of Hewlett-Packard Company, responsible for GaAs crystal material and MMIC devices development.

Dr. Wang was awarded four US patents. He has published thirty-six technical papers including a contributing chapter in a book.

Dr. Wang was the recipient of the 1999 National Asian American Corporate Achievement Award, Organization of Chinese Association. He is also the founder of CIE/DFW in1989.
