2011 CIE Young Achiever Award (YAA)

“2011 YAA is coming. The Young Achiever Scholarship/Award (YAA) is a CIE's traditional charter of encouraging the young generation of our CIE members to achieve excellence in academic performance; to participate in extracurricular activities and community services; and to develop leadership skills in early stage of their life. The YAA program is designed to encourage them by recognizing those young students who have demonstrated so far that they have exceeded in achieving these goals. This particular recognition has proven to be very beneficial to the YAA recipients in their applications to University entrance and also as a good credential record for their career and life. 2011 Community Youth Leadership Club (CYLC) Youth Leadership Camp - Application closed

“The objective of the annual CYLC Youth Leadership Camp is to provide the youth a safe environment to build up friendships, cooperation, and social skills among group activities. Through the activities youth should learn self discipline and communication skills to empower them to take responsibility for their behavior. The camp also encourages youth for creative expression to find conflict solution, collaborate with peers, accountability and trust, and strengthens their confident of goal setting and decision making through the camp activities and team-building. This year's CYLC Youth Leadership Camp will be held July 25 - 30, 2011 at Austin College in Sherman, Texas. The theme of this year's camp is "Courage". “The annual MathComp is a very popular math competition, providing young students of grade 1-7 the opportunity to demonstrate their math problem solving skills. MathFun is an interactive program allowing parent/children to work together in solving math quizzes and games which stimulate the students' interest in mathematics. “The 2011 DFW Youth English Speech Contest is a CIE-sponsored event. It is a unique opportunity for youths to initiate, research, write, and deliver an address to public audience. Texas Dragon Toastmasters Club will organize the contest. Toastmasters International has been invited to aid in the critical judging area and all levels of competition will be judged by the members of that organization. 2005 Chinese Speech Contest

“The objective of the annual Chinese Speech Contest is to encourage local Chinese children to appreciate their cultural traditions and heritage. The participants can choose to recite poetry, to tell a story, or to give a speech on any topic they like. The various categories provide good platforms for the next generation to explore and to learn the art of Chinese language. On stage, the students demonstrated their confidence in expressing themselves using the Chinese language. The contest was very well attended and successful. The credit goes to the hard work and effort of teachers, parents, and students. ”
