2009 Youth English Speech Contest

“The purpose of the Youth English Speech Contest is to foster self-confidence, promote interest in public speaking, provide an opportunity for students to improve their speaking skills by competing, and to recognize the best to encourage all. Texas Dragon Toastmasters Club will organize the contest. Experienced and trained judges from Toastmasters International will serve as contest judges. Students in grade 1 to grade 12 are welcome to participate.”

“MathComp is a mathematics competition to enhance students’ skills in problem solving and MathFun provides lots of interesting mathematic puzzles and games to stimulate children’s interest in mathematics. Both MathComp and MathFun are hosted by Chinese Institute of Engineers (CIE) / USA – DFW chapter annually.Students from 1st to 7th in spring 2009 are welcome for MathComp / MathFun. ”

2008 Junior Leadership Seminars

“The program features interactive lecture sessions and panel discussion. This year’s program theme is "Confidence for college preparation". The seminars are focused on helping students to build up their self-confidence in preparation for college. There will be three interactive workshops and a panel discussion. The workshops focus on communication and interpersonal skills, valuing your strength and personal finance. Accomplished college students and young professionals will provide their personal experiences and tips on college and career choices to the attendees during panel discussion, the question and answer session. Registration deadline is June 10, 2008. Students in 9th through 12th grades are welcome to participate. The Junior Leadership Seminars are limited to 100 students on a first-come-first-serve basis.
