2005 Chinese Speech Contest

The Chinese Speech Contest chartered by the Dallas Fort Worth Chinese School Association (DFCSA) was held on March 26th this year. The event was co-managed by Hai-Hwa Chinese School and Tsu-shi Chinese School. The Chinese Institute of Engineers/DFW is always supportive of community services and was also a major sponsor for this event.

The objective of the annual Chinese Speech Contest is to encourage local Chinese children to appreciate their cultural traditions and heritage. The participants can choose to recite poetry, to tell a story, or to give a speech on any topic they like. The various categories provide good platforms for the next generation to explore and to learn the art of Chinese language. On stage, the students demonstrated their confidence in expressing themselves using the Chinese language. The contest was very well attended and successful. The credit goes to the hard work and effort of teachers, parents, and students.
