The Young Achiever Award (YAA), highlight of the CIE's annual Youth Program follows CIE's traditional charter of encouraging the young generation of our CIE members to achieve excellence in academic performance; to participate in extracurricular activities and community services; and to develop leadership skills in early stage of their life. The YAA program is designed to encourage them by recognizing those young students who have demonstrated so far that they have exceeded in achieving these goals. This particular recognition has proven to be very beneficial to the YAA recipients in their applications to University entrance and also as a good credential record for their career and life. The Year 2005 YAA program has now officially been launched. Starting from 4/22/05, the YAA Committee of CIE/USA DFW will accept the applications. Details are as follows. Eligibility: ·Currently, as of May 2005, the applicant must enroll in the 10th or 11th grade of a DFW or suburban area school system. ·The applicant’s school ranking must be at top 10% ·The applicant must be a current member or the child of a current member of CIE/USA DFW Chapter;(Note: If you are not an active CIE member, you or your child is still eligible to apply for this award if you join or renew the CIE now. Announcement of Award Results: ·Recipients of this Award will be notified by letter on or before July 15th, 2005 ·Public announcement will be made on local Chinese Newspapers during the week of July 17th, as well as at the CIE/USA DFW Website. ·Scholarship/Award will be presented at CIE/USA DFW annual convention on August 20, 2005.
