Math Comp is a mathematics competition held annually. The goal of the competition is to stimulate school children's interest in mathematics and to enhance their skills in problem solving. Math Fun is another part of the event to further promote students' interest in mathematics and problem solving. The students will be provided with lots of interesting mathematics puzzles and games to broaden their critical thinking skills. While students are taking the written test, parents can attend a Parents' Seminar organized by CIE. The seminar is intended to be informative and educational for the parents. The Chinese Youth Leadership Camp (CYLC) is to provide the youth a safe environment to build up friendships, cooperation, and social skills among group activities. Through the activities youth should learn self discipline and communication skills to empower them to take responsibility for their behavior. Encourage youth for creative expression to find conflict solution, collaborate with peers, accountability and trust. To strengthen their confident of goal setting and decision making through the camp activities and team-building. The Young Achiever Awards (YAA) program is designed to encourage the younger generation of our CIE members to achieve academic excellence, to participate in extracurricular activities and community services, and to develop overall leadership skills in the early stage of their lives. The CIE YAA program recognizes these young students who have demonstrated their excellent achievements thus far. 2008 YAA program has officially started. The YAA Committee of CIE/USA DFW chapter will accept YAA applications from April 28, 2008 to July 27, 2008

The program features interactive lecture sessions and panel discussion. This year’s program theme is "Confidence for college preparation". The seminars are focused on helping students to build up their self-confidence in preparation for college. There will be three interactive workshops and a panel discussion. The workshops focus on communication and interpersonal skills, valuing your strength and personal finance. Accomplished college students and young professionals will provide their personal experiences and tips on college and career choices to the attendees during panel discussion, the question and answer session. Registration deadline is June 10, 2008. Students in 9th through 12th grades are welcome to participate. The Junior Leadership Seminars are limited to 100 students on a first-come-first-serve basis.
