The annual MathComp is a very popular math competition, providing young students of grade 1-7 the opportunity to demonstrate their math problem solving skills. MathFun is an interactive program allowing parent/children to work together in solving math quizzes and games which stimulate the students' interest in mathematics. Students from 1st to 7th grade in the spring semester of 2010 are invited to register for the competition and enjoy the fun. Registration is now open through May 30, 2010. Hurry!

The Young Achiever Scholarship/Award (YAA) is a CIE's traditional charter of encouraging the young generation of our CIE members to achieve excellence in academic performance; to participate in extracurricular activities and community services; and to develop leadership skills in early stage of their life. The YAA program is designed to encourage them by recognizing those young students who have demonstrated so far that they have exceeded in achieving these goals. This particular recognition has proven to be very beneficial to the YAA recipients in their applications to University entrance and also as a good credential record for their career and life. The Chinese Youth Leadership Camp (CYLC) is to provide the youth a safe environment to build up friendships, cooperation, and social skills among group activities. Through the activities youth should learn self discipline and communication skills to empower them to take responsibility for their behavior. Encourage youth for creative expression to find conflict solution, collaborate with peers, accountability and trust. To strengthen their confident of goal setting and decision making through the camp activities and team-building. Application is now acceptable. Limited seats.

2010 Junior Leadership Seminar   University of Texas-Dallas (Johnson Academic Center JO4.614), 2010-05-22 12:30:00 - 2010-05-22 16:30:00

The program features interactive lecture sessions and panel discussion. The seminar is focused on helping students to build up their self-confidence in preparation for college. There will be interactive workshops and panel discussion. The workshops focus on branding yourself and on valuing your strengths. Accomplished college students and young professionals will provide their personal experiences and tips on college and career choices to the attendees during panel discussion, the question and answer session. The seminar is open to students in 9th through 12th grades. The Junior Leadership Seminars are limited to 100 students on a first-come-first-serve basis. The purpose of 2010 Youth English Speech Contest is to foster self-confidence, promote interest in public speaking, provide an opportunity for students to improve their speaking skills by competing, and to recognize the best to encourage all. Texas Dragon Toastmasters Club will organize the contest. Experienced and trained judges from Toastmasters International will serve as contest judges.
